About This Compound

Sermorelin is the synthetic 1-29 amino acid fragment of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, the shortest sequence retaining full biological activity. Because it acts upstream at the pituitary rather than supplying growth hormone directly, research uses it to study intact feedback regulation of the GH axis.

An amidated 29-residue peptide corresponding to the N-terminal active fragment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It binds the GHRH receptor on anterior-pituitary somatotrophs, acting as a secretagogue rather than supplying exogenous growth hormone.
